Boykin Spaniels

Next year, Red Horse Farm will proudly offer our first litter of Boykin Spaniel puppies available to hunting and companion family homes. 

Once the best kept secret of South Carolina and affectionately known as "the little brown swamp dog" for its uncanny ability to navigate the narrow swampy wetlands to retrieve downed birds, this versatile breed can do it all. Whether it's hunting in open fields, woodlands, farmlands, in briars, or marshlands, this breed doesn't waiver. 

When in a household, Boykin’s temperaments have been praised for being a wonderful addition to a family, but hunters also note the change in temperament when they are in the fields. They have an incredibly strong prey drive becoming focused on their task at hand when they have a job to do.
